Following the trip to Millbrook the previous day, I was talking to Bandit about places in the New Forest to go on walks. We had already done Ashurst New Forest, so Beaulieu Road was suggested as the next place. It’s a nice place, with a pub nearby, plus lots of forest walks which would be perfect for walkies. So we decided to go and check it out. We drove to a car park in the forest near the station and started to investigate the walks, only to find the ground still to wet after the rain on the Saturday evening. So the walk was abandoned and a quick jaunt to the station was agreed upon instead, allowing another station to be captured. It was around this time that Geoff Marshall and Vicki Pipe had started their All The Stations challenge, so a pup named Halvor on Telegram asked if we were going to do a Pup All The Stations. Collecting all the UK stations hadn’t really been the agenda at the time, I was just collecting memories of places I’d been to, but I quite liked the idea when he suggested it. And thus Pup All The Stations was given a name, at least unofficially for the moment. It was still going to be a while before the #PupAllTheStations tag on Twitter became a thing just yet.
