On March 23 2020, the UK government announced enforced restrictions on going outside during the coronavirus outbreak. This means that the only people out and about on the railways should be key employees who need to take the train to get to work. Similar restrictions have been announced in other countries around the world. As you know, Pup All The Stations is all about going out and getting photographs of yourselves with the stations signs, however at this time it is vital that you stay at home. For now the stations are there for those who need them most, not those on a jolly.
However, this does not mean that there won’t be updates to this site. There is a large archive of stations to add, so time will be spent getting the map updated. I am lucky enough to be one of the aforementioned key workers so my day job continues, which means I won’t have as much time as I’d have like during the outbreak to work on the site, but work on it I shall. You can see the spreadsheet I keep on the Latest News page.
So, in case this wasn’t obvious… Please do not go out and pup stations if your location is in lock down, or is currently battling against coronavirus. It is not worth your own health, nor the health of the people around you. However, if you have any photos in your archives you’d like to submit, please keep them coming in. As usual, post them on Twitter with the hashtag #PupAllTheStations, or poke me directly on Telegram (@CondorBriarpup) to send your pics over.
Don’t forget to take advantage of social media and instant messaging programs to keep in touch with friends and family during this time, and above all else keep yourselves and your loved ones safe. Together we can beat this and be riding the rails again. Until then we keep calm and carry on.
