Back on the move once more, and heading out to a 40th birthday party for one of Shades’ friends. Thanks to engineering works over the weekend, I ventured up to Shades’ place on the Friday night so we could take a nice jaunt over to Maidenhead for the party. For the days before going, I kept thinking the party was in Maidstone, so it was quite a nice surprise to know we didn’t have to trapse all the way through London but instead got a much cheaper train ticket through Reading to get there. Saturday comes and We get a train with plenty of time for our change at Basingstoke to get on the line to Reading for the final change to Maidenhead. We soon worked out that we had time to pop out and pup a station along the way. Fantastic. So we looked at the stops remaining and settled on the next stop: Mortimer.
We get off the train and have a hunt around for a good sign, finding a good one on the opposing platform. So with one quick dash over a very old looking footbridge, the picture was secured. We then spent a few minutes getting some selfies and looking around the rather quiet station before the next train arrived to take us to Reading.
