If you’re going to convince people or pups to come out chasing steam trains with you, the offer of a pub somewhere in the journey can help sway them to your favour. Liquid lubricant is a surprisingly good motivator of people, even if medication means you can’t partake of the alcohols. So fresh from capturing Swaythling and a steam train, Tubbs and I stepped off our train at St Denys and ambled to the pub next to the station… After adding St Denys to the collection of stations pupped, of course. Slowly but surely the eastern half of the SouthWestern MainLine is collected. Once some lemonade was duly consumed, the pair of us gathered ourselves together and got the train home. One train filmed and two stations photographed. Not a bad day out.
