When you have a station a stone’s throw from a main line terminus, you get to see all sorts of interesting motive power pass you by. Especially when the station you’re standing on is on the edge of the main line and the ‘powers that be’ have decided to allow viewing across the whole line instead of boxing off the station like had happened at each stop so far. This was the view that greeted Echo and I as we arrived at Royal Oak. With Paddington looming in the distance, and a view over many tracks of departing and arriving trains, I was a happy puppy. Cue lots of filming of trains while we got our photo and awaited the next Circle Line train to arrive. Eventually it turned up, and we headed off to the first stop in the circle…
