Penzance

The day’s trip to Penzance was going to serve many points for the holiday Echo, Hedgie, Sparky, and I were on. First it was to pup the most southerly railway station in the whole of the UK. Following that, it was shopping for tourist tat because we can be suckered in with overpriced, low quality merchandise as easily as anyone else. Finally it was a nice break point in the drive down to Land’s End. First stop was the station, however. Parking outside the station was reasonably simple and the walk to the station quite short. The famous stone welcoming message was going to be a target, but had so many people already sat and laid all over it that taking even a half-decent normal photo was going to be impossible. We decided on a photo each while at the station (because apparently I love being given more work to do) so we found a nice sign with a GWR Class 800 behind us and set to work. I had also brought the sign on this trip and so posed with it loud and proud. We then bundled up our bits and we headed off for tat. The day’s station quota had been filled, it was now time to visit the end of the land, via a radio museum at Porthcurno first.
