Fleet

The phrase “Do you fancy going and pupping some stations?” is generally one that can spur me into action. So when we had a spare day together, Shades posed the question, and I (of course) accepted the invitation. Having recently crossed a couple of the Surrey based branch lines off the list, it was now time to fill in the gap between Micheldever and Woking. So we worked on a basis of making the most of the timetable by skipping stations and doubling back to get them, thus taking advantage of trains going in each direction instead of just relying on a single direction. Sunday service trains were not as frequent as the rest of the week.

This meant that Fleet was our first stop on our tour. It was a quiet station, though rather large considering it was in the middle of nowhere and the most exciting thing nearby(ish) was the Services on the M3 motorway. That said, it is on the commuter belt, so probably sees quite a lot of peak activity. Wasn’t our place to judge, however, as once our photo was taken, we popped over to the opposing platform to make the jump to the first station we had skipped…
