Golf Halt (Heritage)

The Great Wales Adventure continued with a spot of scouting. After tagging Fairbourne and jumping aboard a narrow gauge steam railway, we roamed the line from top to bottom. There were a couple of stations on there, but we were only interested in one. Gorsafawddacha’idraigodanheddogleddollônpenrhynareurdraethceredigion – also known as Golf Halt. The railway had created the name to challenge a station name we planned to visit as part of the adventure but the attempt failed to gain any traction and so was renamed back quietly. However, it still had the long name on the sign, and so we thought we’d pup it. After we enjoyed the length of the line we jumped in the car and followed the railway back to the halt. We soon had our photos taken, before I delayed Echo and Hedgie by wanting to film a passing train. Once that was all done, we hopped back in the car and went on the search of food. Going in search of food played a rather large part of our trip, as did the hunt for Internet, but that’s another story…
