Having left Guildford we passed through a number of stations before arriving at our destination and the prime target of the adventure. Cobham and Stoke D’Abernon station. Set in a rather peaceful looking Surrey suburb, the station hid a little secret that was only discovered after some exploring. Going out of the main entrance way revealed a little parade of shops and local businesses, but going out the back way took us to a small footpath. Right behind the station, however, was a rather large security fence, with big signs forbidding entry without authorisation. We had stumbled upon the training ground for Chelsea Football Club. That was unexpected. We even saw someone leave to catch their train home so while it was doubtful that anyone famous was inside, we could have met some star players. Not that we’d have known if we did as neither Shades nor myself know anything or care about football. Nevertheless, it was still an interesting find. With our next train approaching it was time to hop on board and seeing as we had time, we could pup the next station we came to.
