The journey to Mottisfont & Dunbridge station is not a long one when coming from Dean, which is where Tubbs and myself were coming from. The trip out to complete the Westbury to Southampton run was in fully swing and with 50% of the stations captured, it was certainly time to complete the run and dive into a nearby local public house for liquid refreshment. The only downside, sciatica medication meant that only Tubbs would be able to enjoy a pint of beer. Still the station was lovely, as was the surrounding area, so it was all worth it. A short way down the main road sat road signs of the area, so before drinks were consumed a quick set of photos were taken – with a 158 in the new South Western Railway passing in the background over the level crossing at the end of the platform. A liquid lunch was finally enjoyed (even if it was lemonade, and I’m not totally bitter about this) before getting the train home. A rather lovely afternoon out and about in some very nice local locations.
