Smallbrook Junction (Heritage)

With the sound of our Austerity 0-6-0 nearing the end of her journey filling our ears, the mad rush to find a good station sign on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway side of Smallbrook Junction was an adrenaline filled panic. We struck gold with a nice little roundel style sign next to a bench and got into position. A short fight with the public to get them out of shot later and the photos were taken, much to the amusement of those already on the train who probably wondered what the dog people were doing. Mission accomplished, we jumped back onto the train with moments to spare before the whistle blew and our train departed from the station. 2 “stations” tagged within three minutes. Not too bad going. “Just Wootton to go and then our Steam Journey is complete” we thought, but as we were to find out, we weren’t quite correct about that.
