Leaving Weymouth we took the long journey of about 3 minutes or so to Upwey station. A rather ancient looking DMU in refurbished GWR livery limped up the line and dropped us off. There wasn’t much time before our next train going towards home and our next station so we pupped the station sign… And then spotted a classic GWR style sign, so that one was also pupped. Got to love it when a station respects their heritage, even if the station was originally known as Upwey Junction as a different Upwey had already been built on another branch line. Small details aside, the station was nice, if a little basic. Sadly we didn’t have time to go exploring before the 444 class EMU arrived to take us on to the next stop. So we bade the station farewell and journeyed forth on the eastwards line to our next destination.
