Branksome

Original visit 03/08/2017 – Journeying home from Weymouth in First Class, because we could, Hedgie and I found the position of our coach in just the right spot to nab a couple of “on-the-train” shots to capture some of the remaining stations. This is Branksome. A better blog post will be put up when we visit this station properly.

09/07/2022 Revisit:

The master plan to get to the pub (see Parkstone for more details on that) had been a success. Foods were nommed and a good time had been had by all. Fursty Ferret on tab was a joy to consume, and soon with bellies filled we all began the walk to Branksome station, which wasn’t all that far away at all. We arrived in good time, so while everyone else found a seat to relax and digest, I quickly found a nice sign with some good sun positioning. We then all awaited our train. Sadly, a signal failure saw our train cancelled, with a stopping service being the alternate option. I was already running late for another meal (this time with family), so while Echo, Nyxen, and I boarded the stopper, Shades opted to wait for the more direct service. Sadly the disruption was not over swiftly, and while I ended up being an hour late for my family gathering, Shades’ journey home took over 6 hours. Got to hand it to Network Rail, they sure know how to make a reliable railway… *cough*.
