Original visit 03/08/2017 – Journeying home from Weymouth in First Class, because we could, Hedgie and I found the position of our coach in just the right spot to nab a couple of “on-the-train” shots to capture some of the remaining stations. This is Parkstone. A better blog post will be put up when we visit this station properly.
09/07/2022 Revisit:
Took a while to get back here, but got there in the end. While looking through the archives I notices that Parkstone and Branksome stations were only pupped “on the train”, so set out to visit the stations to get some proper photos. Knowing that it’s often a good chance to try some local public houses when visiting stations, I did some searching on Google and found a nearby pub that served Badger ales on tap. Badger is one of my favourite breweries, and the pub happened to be slap-bang between both stations. This was too perfect. Since illness had delayed a birthday meal, I decided to see if people fancied visiting this pub for my birthday, which would allow me the chance to pup both Parkstone and Branksome at the same time. Folk agreed, so the plan was put into action. So on the morning of 09/07/2022, trains were boarded (everyone managed to get the same train, albeit from different starting points) and soon we were all at Parkstone station. Echo and Nyxen joined me for the photo, before we all headed down to the pub.
