It feels good to be back! After quite the drought of station pupping (over a year, can you believe?) I was finally able to go out and visit Shades. Having recently recovered from surgery, I was rather looking forward to seeing him again. We did family things on the Saturday, which left Sunday free to do some exploring of the railway network. Since the Sunday services were the ones to use the part of the Byfleet Triangle that connects Byfleet & New Haw station to Addlestone (instead of heading to Weybridge and doubling back down the other side of the triangle) and on to the Chertsey branch line, it seemed like a good time to hit some of the stations along the line to London via Addlestone. Plans were made, and trains embarked upon.
It wasn’t too long of a journey, and it was rather cool to use track that wasn’t often used. We were on limited time, so we chose stations reasonably close to each other that were easy to get to within the time constraints we had. It did mean we weren’t really able to go exploring but we could fit 3 stations into the plan. We hit Virginia Water first, an interesting station that seemed to serve as a bit of a junction between the line to Ascot and the Chertsey branch line.
Shades had forgotten his hood, so decided to take the photos instead, so upon getting off the train on the Chertsey branch, we found a nice sign and got the shot. We then headed onto the Ascot branch for the short wait for our train to the next destination. We took a chance to pop outside and get some other photos before jumping on our train and heading to station 2 of 3 for the day.
