The final stop in the journey from Surbiton, and just a short jaunt from Hersham station, was Walton on Thames. Shades and I got off the train and took a moment to grab the station photo before heading to the exit, after looking at the abandoned island platform. It was a ticket barrier, but the station was unmanned. This posed a problem as the barrier did not like my QR code on the ticket. However, it seems the station is watched by CCTV as one of the barriers swung open randomly to allow me to escape. The side we exited from was somewhat under construction as it was being renovated, so we went on a little walk around the estate to Station Court. Not much to see, but the buildings were an interesting shape and design at least. The Thames was a very long walk away (the station is not central to the town it serves) so no trip to the river for us. Deciding to head back to the station with plenty of time to have issues getting back through the barrier (all hail the magic gate opening itself again), we made it back with plenty of time to get the train back to base and decide what to do for noms.
