Wool

With the daylight starting to look like it was beginning to ponder the possibility of becoming dusk, Hedgie and I arrived at Wool station. A quiet little station in what felt like the middle of nowhere. After getting the photo, we walked down to the level crossing and picked a direction to explore. Half the fun of this project is getting to explore the locale a little while we wait for the next train. We picked the direction that took us down the A352 and towards the River Frome. We came across a bridge over the river that had been damaged, with a large chunk of the crossing collapsed and laying in the water. Obviously it was cordoned off with big fences. Next to the bridge was a public footpath along the river. As it was still a lovely day, we decided to take the path and go for a little walk. A quick look on Google Maps will show just how nice the walk along the Frome is. We stopped when we saw something that looked like a makeshift bridge, next to which a swan and some signets had made their home. Not wishing to disturb them, we made our way back to the station where we took a walk to the footbridge over the line to survey the local area a bit before going back to catch our train. The day was getting late, so we figured we had time for one more station before heading home.
